Security Camera Installation in Doral and Miami: What to Expect

2 min read

Thinking about security cameras for your home or business in Doral or Miami? Here is what a professional installation looks like, step by step, so you know what to ask for and what to avoid.

1. A site visit before any quote

A good installer walks the property first. We look at entrances, driveways, parking areas, blind spots, lighting at night and where the cables can run cleanly. The goal is to cover what matters with the right number of cameras, not to sell you the most cameras.

2. Choosing the right cameras

  • Resolution: 4MP is a good standard; 8MP (4K) or 12MP helps when you need to read license plates or cover wide areas.

  • Night vision: color night vision or infrared depending on how much light the area has.

  • Wired PoE cameras: one cable carries power and video, which is more reliable than WiFi cameras.

  • Brands we install and support: Hikvision, Dahua, Reolink and UniFi Protect.

3. The recorder (NVR) and storage

The cameras record to an NVR with hard drives sized for how many days of video you want to keep. More cameras or higher resolution means more storage. We size the disks so you keep the history you need.

4. Clean installation

Cables are run through attics, walls or conduit whenever possible, cameras are mounted at the right height and angle, and everything is labeled so future service is easy.

5. Remote viewing on your phone

Before we leave, we set up the app on your phone, show you how to review recordings and adjust motion alerts so you are not flooded with notifications.

6. Support after the install

Cameras go offline, disks fill up and passwords get lost. Ask your installer what support looks like after the job. We also offer remote monitoring so we know when a camera stops working, often before you do.
